Generation Z   (Generation I, Internet Generation, iGeneration)

Generation Z includes the generation of people living in Western or First World countries.  Generation Z consists of children from Generation Jones, Generation X, and Cold Y Generation.

Experiences

  • The generation is young.  Theories about the generation are being created and few authoritative works have been produced about the generation.
  • Generation Z are active consumers, with a high degree of influence over their parents' purchasing decisions.
  • Generation Z is connected with communication and media technologies including DVDs, the Internet, instant messaging, text messaging, MP3 players, cell phones, and YouTube
  • The communication source most frequently used for the generation is the internet.  Generation Z show very little verbal communication skills because the generation uses instant action and satisfaction due to internet technology.
  • Generation Z does not believe in personally meeting their friends and developing relationships.
  • The people of Generation Z do not do excel in public speaking and regard privacy.
  • The generation is impatient because they desire instant results.
  • Generation Z is nicknamed "digital natives"
  • Generation Z have grown up in a culture with widespread equality in roles of sexes at work and at home (single-parent or same-sex parent families are commonplace along with two-income families)
  • It is anticipated that Generation Z will have a strong social conscience and work ethic.
  • Generation Z is differnet than Generation Y because it is the first generation to have parents and children encounter technology together.
